Patrick Stump (born Patrick Martin Stumph)
born on April 27, 1984,in Glenview, Illinois, is an American musician, composer and producer. Most notably, he is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the band Fall Out Boy.
Early life and influences
Stump comes from a musical household, his father was a folk singer turned corporate drone and his brother, Kevin, is a violinist. When he was eight his parents split up, and Stump cites this as the cause of one of his strongest music memories—taking boxes of his father's records out of the house. He attended Glenbrook South High School.
He first joined Fall Out Boy as a drummer, but his singing talent was soon discovered—he had never sung before Fall Out Boy.
As a producer, Stump has worked with The Hush Sound and Gym Class Heroes.
Guest vocal appearances include Gym Class Heroes' "Clothes Off!",and "Cupid's Chokehold",October Fall's "Second Chances," Knockout's "Breakaway," Motion City Soundtrack's "Everything Is Alright," The Hush Sound's "Don't Wake Me Up," Timbaland's "One & Only", and Misery Signals' "One Day I'll Stay Home.
