Hurley joined Fall Out Boy in 2003 after their debut Album Evening Out With Your Girlfriend. As a child, he considered himself a trouble maker who drank and did not listen to authority. He now leads a straight edge lifestyle, is a vegan as well as being a comic book and video game enthusiast. Hurley plays C&C Custom drums, Sabian cymbals, and Vic Firth drumsticks. He currently lives in Menomonee Falls, WI.
Pre-Fall Out Boy
Hurley played drums in the Chicago metalcore band Racetraitor's Burn the Idol of the White Messiah, 1998 on Uprising Records and Make Them Talk, 1999 on Trustkill Records, Milwaukee's Global Scam, Kill the Monkey Friends and in 1999 played drums on Vegan Reich's final EP. Later, Hurley started the emo pop band, Project Rocket, with future Spitalfield bassist TJ Minnich. He then ventured into garage punk with Racetraitor frontman Mani Mah-jamal-hasaan-dal-stafi and Since By Man guitarist Kevin Herwig forming The Kill Pill. He played drums in Milwaukee metalcore band Killtheslavemaster. He has also played drums in various bands that included Fall Out Boy's bassist Peter Wentz, namely Arma Angelus.
